An Optimistic Sky | The Story of Bryan William Stewart

PHOTO OF CAR
- Before I talk about the Challenger, I have to give an honorable
mention to the Focus. It gave Bryan dozens of safe rides to and from LSU.
It allowed him to hang out with us in Belle Chasse on a recurring basis.
One would have thought that the Focus was a Rolls-Royce considering how well
Bryan took care of that car. I used to compliment him all the time on how
well he took care of it from both a cleanliness standpoint and maintenance.
It spoke to his character, his attention to detail and his passion for
excellence.
I see the Focus, one of the ‘Focui’ because Angela also owned a Focus as an example of taking care of the little things until you are blessed with the bigger thing. Speaking of the Focui, we had a lot of fun comparing the two. Angela’s had a sub-wolfer in the trunk (really) a sunroof, heated seats and remote trunk release. We used to mess with Bo and press the trunk release and say, Hey Bryan, can your car do this? (click, lick, click)
- I’m very proud of the fact that I was able to go with him and help
him pick out his first car. I’m also very proud of the way that he handled
business as a true professional.
The white stripe: So when we went to look at the car, Bryan had done some
virtual shopping and he knew that he wanted a Challenger. We first looked
at a dark blue one. He liked it but it was not quite what he was looking
for. He saw one that had a white stripe. The salesman said that they could
remove the white stripe with no residue or evidence of the stripe. I,
frankly didn’t believe them. Bryan did, was confident that they could remove
the stripe and really wanted that car.
Bo and I went to lunch at Cracker Barrel, returned and, the rest (as they
say) is history. White stripe removed with no residue or evidence of the
stripe. Of course he bought the car and LOVED it! He was very proud of it
and I was very proud of how he handled the business transaction and am
honored to have been part of the purchase process with him.
I have the car and do my best to keep it in pristine condition. I plan to
keep it forever. It will one day be a classic. I’m planning a few
modifications that I know that B will love.
